When we heard Esurance and Discovery were teaming up again for Shark Week, our brains starting churning! Esurance’s brand and campaigns are truly funny (ie: on April Fool’s Day, Esurance offered ‘Election Insurance’ in case you have to move to Canada). And Discovery’s Shark footage library is AMAZING!
Working with Esurance’s Smarter campaign and Discovery’s Shark Week footage, we came up with ideas like Stark Week, Dad TV and Dead Fish Armor. But in the end, the best way to illustrate the “not so smart way” to deal with Sharks were:
1) dressing up as a seal to blend in with hungry sharks
2) protecting one’s self with a shark cage made out of bamboo (steel is over rated).
Teaming up with Vinegar Hill on production, we created these two funny spots. Mega props to Elan, our hilarious talent, who stood in the cold rain for the majority of our shoot!
